Have a question about Image Guidline rule 1, regarding knees

I understand it varies case-to-case, but generally speaking, are shorts that sit directly above the knee allowed? As in nothing above the knee is showing, but the knee itself is? Thank you (:

That would be allowed, yes.

So I really, really, really want to post some pics from my youth group trip, but all the people in it are wearing shorts. It would make the pic look bad if I cropped it and it would ruin the pic if I scribbled all over the knees which people do. Could you make an exception for just this time?

It would be manifestly unjust to apply the rule only to some members and not to others.

Ok, well I guess then the members that have Instagram can see them!

Ok, thank you. I was kinda wondering about that since my legs are longer, and most of my shorts don't reach my knees.

would it be considered mention spam to tag all of your followers in your status updates? @Mr. Warren

Depends. If you have several hundred followers, then that's definitely spam. Essentially the rule means that you should only mass-tag people if you're pretty sure they wouldn't mind being tagged or would like to see what you have to share.

However, it probably isn't wholly necessary to tag for status updates since they're quite visible.

Yes, that would seem to be tag spam.

So should it be reported? If I get tagged

If it annoys you, you should. This is more of a courtesy rule then a moral rule, I don't think there is a moral imperative to have to report it, and you can just leave it up to the mods if you want. I think most other violations there is a duty to report, especially the more serious it is.

Do you think we could specify that? it's getting extremely annoying.

Yes I've been tagged by quite a few people and I don't really like it.

Am I allowed to post something publically in one of the forums asking for outside social media usernames, like Instagram? It would be optional to anyone, and I’m not asking it in a stalker way. Also, am I allowed to share my own Instagram username on here? I'm not going to post my post unless I'm sure it's not against the site rules.

There is no reason that would be against the rules, and we have had many similar topics in the past. The Getting to Know You forum would be the ideal home for such a topic.

I have some questions about the alumni platform (this might not be the right forum to ask but I didn't know where to put it...)

1. How many regularly active alumni are there?

2. Besides the obvious rules that would remain, are there any changes on account of the age difference between us and the alumni? i.e. they can debate/discuss things that might not be permitted on here

3. Do they have the same forums we do?

4. Are there moderators and ambassadors on the alumni platform?

Just had some random wonderings (:

@Mr. Warren

I can answer some of these. XD

1. I have no idea, an alumni in their grace year could probably tell you though. As long as you graduated with Seton,  you'll have access to the alumni forum (unless say you broke a lot of rules.)

2. Not sure.

3. I know they can access Administrative information,  Prayer Requests, College and Career, School Stuff and the Alumni forum.

4. Moderators can access it, Ambassadors cannot.

1) Don't know exactly, but not that many, a few, but not many.

2) The "mature" topics rule is interpreted differently, so there are some topics that are allowed there that are not allowed in the student forums.

So I don't do all Seton courses and I won't actually graduate through Seton. I would still be able to have access to the alumni forum, right? @Mr. Warren

As long as you take at least one Seton course in 12th Grade, yes.
